Over a quarter of consumers take a “wait until it breaks” approach to boiler maintenance.

The survey from Which?, also suggested that three quarters of homeowners with older heating systems were unprepared in the event they needed to replace a boiler.

Although nearly 20% of respondents admitted their heating system wasn’t working very well, over half said they had no plans to replace it.

Over half of small UK business owners begin exit planning within five years — that’s according to a survey from Capital on Tap.

Despite the eagerness to sell, the poll of 250 owners revealed that 79% of them did not have an exit plan, and over a third had no intention of creating one.

In the survey, selling the business to a third party was the preferred plan, slightly ahead of leaving it to a family member, or selling to a co-founder.

Construction charity Warriors of Warmth has partnered with Lawton Tubes for its latest charity project.

The team of volunteer installers are fitting a heat pump, gas boiler and radiators in a disused three storey bank in Grimsby, so it can be converted into a homeless shelter for the Christian Action Resource Enterprise (CARE).

Founder of Warriors of Warmth, Jonathon Hallam said the homeless charity “did vital work in Grimsby for those in need.”
