AUDIO NEWS: Climate change could generate £144m worth of repair work and Kaleb Cooper has post knocker nicked

Flooding and heat-related damage could generate £144 million worth of repair work for tradespeople, 1,000 free course places available and Kaleb Cooper has £7,000 fence-post knocker stolen

Climate change could drive £144 million worth of annual repair work for tradespeople, claims a report from Protrade.

The analysis of Met Office data and average repair costs estimates that London could face a repair bill of over £120 million a year by 2040.

The capital has the highest percentage of properties at risk from both flooding and heat-related damage.

Birmingham is also at risk with a forecasted repair bill of nearly £6 million a year.

Des Duddy, joint MD with Protrade said that as extreme temperatures and rainfall became more frequent “demand for structural and surface-level repair work is likely to surge”.
