Surge in BCIA memberships underscores UK’s drive towards net zero

Posted: Thursday, April 24th, 2025

The Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) has underlined the crucial role the building controls and automation sector is having on enhancing the built environment’s sustainability and energy efficiency performance.

According to the BCIA, it has seen a further 15 companies securing membership in the past four months.

As one of the UK’s leading trade associations, and the only one specifically for the building controls and automation sector, the BCIA takes its position incredibly seriously, ensuring awareness and understanding of the benefits and adoption of building automation solutions across the commercial environment is increased.

With developers and owners of commercial properties now having until 2030 to upgrade their buildings to meet Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) of C or above, having an association that leads on advocacy and lobbying while promoting greater understanding and information on the multitude of sustainability and energy efficiency benefits of building automation systems is absolutely paramount.

Alongside receiving exclusive market trend information, having the opportunity to collaborate on shared interests, and gaining access to a pro-active network of members with which to develop business relationships, BCIA members new and existing are given the chance to shape and influence legislation and policy.
